OHS CURRICULUM NIGHT Scheduled for Feb. 6

students gathered around booth to learn about course offerings

Parents and students are invited to OHS Curriculum Night in the west gym Thursday, Feb. 6, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.  Teachers will be available to answer questions about course offerings for the 2020-2021 school year, helping students navigate the scheduling process.

If you are the parent of a current 8th grade student, please plan to meet in the auditorium at 5:30 p.m. to learn more details about scheduling high school classes.  If your child is considering College Credit Plus options, plan to meet for a mandatory meeting for both students and one parent at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium.

During the evening, members of the Special Education Department will be housed in Room 102, providing information on all junior and senior high resource classes taught to students receiving services.  In addition, information on applying for students who are currently on an IEP or 504 Plan to receive SAT/ACT accommodations, and on transitioning from high school to post-secondary options will be available.

PTO will provide refreshments throughout the evening.

Speak up, Save lives, Your eyes and Ears Could Save Lives

Oakwood Schools is partnering with the Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio Department of Public Safety to provide an anonymous tip line that could prevent a school safety crisis.  Calls and text to the tip line, 844-SaferOH (844-723-3764), are answered 24 hours a day by trained professionals who can help.

This tip line allows students and adults to anonymously share information with school officials and law enforcement officials about threats to student safety—whether that involves a threatened mass incident or harm to a single student.

If you see something or have concerns, say something.  Don't wait until it's too late.
