Important dates

OJH Schedules

All schedules have been mailed out! Schedules for all 8th graders and 7th graders who submitted their immunizations by the deadline were mailed July 22. The schedules of the 7th graders who did not meet the deadline were mailed July 27.

All schedules should be viewable on ProgressBook beginning August 6. 

Reminder to students - don’t share your locker combination with anyone, and please do not share/text a picture of your schedule showing your combination with your friends.

7th-grade Orientation
Thursday, Aug. 6, 8:45–11 a.m. 

7th-grade orientation is Thursday, Aug. 6, from 8:45–11 a.m. This will begin in the Auditorium, and it is for 7th-grade students only (not family members).

Important things to note:

• Please bring your schedule and locker combination with you.
• No need to bring a phone/computer with you.
• If you haven't yet uploaded the required documentation for the MCV4 and Tdap vaccination to FinalForms, please do so now.
   

New to the District 8th-Graders to OJH Orientation
Thursday, Aug. 6, 1–2 p.m.

NEW 8th-grade student orientation is Thursday, Aug. 6, from 1–2 p.m. This is only for new-to-OJH 8th graders and accompanying caregivers. There is no orientation for returning 8th graders. Please report to the OJH Office.

Oakwood Junior High Open House
Monday, Aug. 10, 5–6:30 p.m.

OJH Open House is Monday, Aug. 10, from 5–6:30 p.m. This year, our format is "drop-in" for both students and families. You are welcome to come and go at any time during this window to meet teachers, see classrooms, review locker organization, etc. We look forward to meeting you there! Please note that because most teachers will have over 100 students this year, our 90-minute format allows for brief interactions but not for extended conversations. You may request a follow-up conference at a later date and time if needed at any point throughout the year! This year, Open House will be for both OJH and OHS, so parking will be limited to the surrounding side streets. Staff will be parking in the assigned numbered slots by the stadium and in the lot off of Far Hills. Please keep this in mind when you come to the Open House. If you are within walking distance, that's probably your best option! 

School Starts
Wednesday, Aug. 12 

Oakwood Jr. High School will begin on Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2026. The tardy bell rings at 8:15 a.m.

OJH School Supply List 

If you want to get a head start on your school supply shopping, students will have a link in their Google Classroom. With your schedule in hand, enter your teacher for each period. When you submit, you’ll be sent the full list of supplies you’ll need.

OJH “Getting To Know You” Survey 

All students need to complete the online Beginning of the Year Survey before the first day of school. They can find the Survey in their Google Classroom.

School Picture Day
Thursday, Aug. 20

School Picture Day will be held on Thursday, Aug. 20. Pictures for Junior High students will begin during the first period, with the first classes being called promptly at 8:20 a.m. and concluding by lunch. No picture form is needed at the time of the photo, as the proof and order process information will come sometime in September/October. 

Picture Retake Day is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 1. Retake pictures for OJH students will begin at 8:15 a.m. and conclude at approximately 9:30 a.m. There is a $5 retake fee; if the retake is due to a photographer error or you didn't get your picture taken previously, there is no charge.
