Looking ahead to the start of the OJH fall sports season?  Here's a look at when the various sports will start.  If you have questions about a specific sport, contact that coach.

Oakwood Schools was notified Tuesday, May 4 an OJH student has tested positive for COVID-19.  The student was last in attendance May 4.  To protect the confidentiality of the individual, we will not be sharing additional information regarding the individual.  

After conducting an investigation with the support of Public Health Dayton & Montgomery County and following CDC guidelines, students and staff determined to have “close contact” and/or “general exposure,” to the individual who tested positive have been notified directly.  Health recommendations from the CDC regarding “close contact” and “general exposure” were included in the notification.

Once completing the required quarantine period, being fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication, and seeing an improvement in symptoms, the individual who tested positive will be cleared to return to school.  Individuals determined to have “close contact” with the individual who tested positive and show no symptoms of COVID-19 will be cleared to return to school following the required quarantine period.

OJH Academic Team is celebrating after winning the Copley Invitational March 6 against 23 teams from 14 schools from around Ohio. The students competed remotely, using Google Meet and an online buzzer system.

The team, coached by OHS math teacher Ian Callon, is composed of Joseph Hong, Robert Einhorn, Claire Cezeaux, Srinidhi Krishnamoorthy, Veronica Oehlers and Matthew Walton.

Next up, the State tournament April 10.

Members of the OJH Power of the Pen teams will be advancing to the Regional Tournament March 13.

The 7th-grade team placed 5th out of 13 teams at the District competition held Jan. 30.

Teagan Williams placed first overall and earned a SUPERIOR designation for his performance.  

Matilda Prizler and Julia Ludwig earned HONORS designations and will join Teagan in moving on to write at the Regional Tournament March 13. 

Ian Morgan and Cameron Lindsey also earned HONORS designations for their performance. 

For the 8th-grade team, Diane Rosenberg placed 4th and earned a SUPERIOR designation.  Elizabeth Erwin placed 7th and earned an HONORS designation.  Lilly Rich also earned an HONORS designation.  All three OJH writers are advancing to Regionals.
