OJH LINX 20180525

A Note from the Principal

Dear Parents,

As the 2017-2018 school year officially draws to a close, I'd like to use this brief LINX to simply say 'Thank You!' for being such a support for your child. At different points throughout the year, I'm sure you've been cast in the roles of tutor, cheerleader, drill sergeant, counselor, advocate, coach, chauffeur, and even 'frenemy.' You have come to athletic events, performances, open house, awards nights, conferences, and more. Along with your son or daughter, you have likely relived the daily ups and downs associated with junior high - and as of next Thursday, you'll have made it through!

For parents of students in the class of 2022, I also want to say a special thanks for being so welcoming over the past two years. Our current 8th grade has been my first two-year cohort as principal, and it has been such a privilege to work for them and alongside you during this time. I am so excited to see what the future holds for each of them, and I look forward to their updates when they happen through the junior high office in the years to come. I hope you'll share when you're in, too.

For parents of students in the class of 2023, next year will see them rise to leadership roles throughout Oakwood Junior High. Whether through Lumberjack Leaders, National Junior Honor Society, various clubs or teams, or other avenues, I'm sure the students are ready to follow in the impressive footsteps imprinted by the classes before them. Eighth graders often return to school in a very different spot following a summer of maturation, and we'll be ready to challenge the class of 2023 again this fall.

I'll be in the office for much of the summer, so perhaps I'll see you in the weeks and months ahead. Even if not, though, thanks again for teaming with us all year to help your child grow. Have a great summer with your family!

Tim Badenhop
Principal
Oakwood Junior High

A Few End-of-the-year Notices

  • Report cards will be mailed home the first week of June.
  • Included with the report cards are library fines and outstanding fee notifications. If your child has an outstanding fee and/or library fine, please be sure to resolve those prior to the start of the 2018-2019 school year. You can pay these fees and fines in the Jr. High office (if paid by June 8th) or can mail them to Oakwood Jr. High School, 1200 Far Hills Ave., Oakwood, Ohio 45419 Attn: Dawne Roeckner (after June 8th).
  • It is very important that all belongings are removed from your child's locker by the end of the day on Monday, June 4th. Items not removed by this time will be donated (if possible), recycled, or discarded.
